Heaven knows when we go out hiking, the last thing we want is to get lost. Many times, as I have been hiking in the wilderness, I see a trail and think to myself, “I wonder where this trail leads?”. So, I go up it a little bit and decide that maybe I had better not go any further or I may get lost.
But I have, a couple of times, not listened to my own advise I have found myself lost and confused of where I should go. I admit, this is a scary, lonely feeling and if you are not careful, getting lost can be something that may require you to set up a shelter if you are stranded overnight.
I found this informative video that has a few different ways to create a shelter. Some are more difficult that others but at least this will give you some ideas…JUST IN CASE!
I hope this video was of some help to you. When I go out hiking, I tell my wife where I am going and approximately how long I will be gone. It is very important to let someone know where you are headed in case something happens. At least then, if you tell someone where you are going and do not return, they can tell the proper authorities where they can start looking for you.
